Presentation
Asthmatic patient with aspirin intolerance. History of previous surgery for chronic nasal obstruction.
Patient Data
Extensive mucosal thickening with almost total soft tissue opacification of the paranasal sinuses which exhibit an intermediate signal on T1WI, high signal on T2WI with areas within the left ethmoid air cells, and sphenoid sinus of high signal on T1WI, and low signal on T2WI (protein-rich content or fungal infection). Bilateral ethmoid and left sphenoid mucocele are noted. A peripheral enhancement is seen on postcontrast sequences.
Case Discussion
Widal syndrome or Widal triad is characterized by the association of aspirin intolerance, asthma, and sinonasal polyposis.
