Case Discussion

The illustration is of historical interest only. We do not see this study any longer.

The images were obtained on an ordinary x ray machine with a balloon or paddle for compression. A plate was  electrostatically charged using a machine supplied by Xerox. The charged plate was dusted with a blue powder that adhered to the plate. The process was messy and the technologist was covered in blue powder by the end of the day. The images were printed on paper.

The study gave stunning detail and unsurpassed spatial resolution even by today's standards. The study fell into disfavour because of the high radiation dose and messy process.

Developed by the company that built the photocopier of the same name.
