During swallowing an out-pouching of the posterior hypopharyngeal wall is clearly visualised at the level C5-C6, right above the upper oesophageal sphincter. This is compatible with a Zenker's diverticulum
The pouch is characterised by a narrow neck entrapping some barium after the swallowing.
This is a classical esophageal swallow imaging of Zenker's diverticulum.
