Presentation
Previously healthy male presented with syncopal episode while playing soccer.
Patient Data
A Zio Patch is seen projecting over the mid left hemithorax. The heart and central pulmonary vascularity are normal. Mild diffuse peribronchial thickening which may be due to reactive airway disease or viral process. The osseous structures are intact. The upper abdomen appears normal.
Case Discussion
The Zio Patch is a small adhesive patch placed on the skin over the left chest. It is wireless and allows for 24 hour continuous cardiac monitoring. The use of this device is increasing as it offers a more comfortable alternative to the Holter monitor for patients. The ECG leads seen on this x-ray are from the patient's admission and not part of the Zio Patch.
