Description

A comprehensive one day neuroradiology review course featuring neuroradiologist A.Prof Frank Gaillard and neurointerventional radiologist Prof Peter Mitchell in Sydney on Saturday April 1, 2017. The focus is on core knowledge in neuroradiology, ideal not only for radiologists and radiology trainees,  but also all other health professionals involved in management of individuals with neurological or neurosurgical conditions. 

Who should attend?

The course will assume at least a basic knowledge of neuroradiology and is most suited to: 

  • Radiologists - consultants and trainees
  • Neurologists - consultants and trainees
  • Neurosurgeons - consultants and trainees
  • Junior doctors - with an interest in neuroradiology
  • MRI technologists - with an interest in neuroradiology

Course Topics

Topics are designed to complement and improve upon 2015's Adult Brain MRI Review Course and include:

  • Approach to brain tumors
  • Targeted high-value talks on imaging of specific regions (e.g. pituitary & posterior fossa)
  • Stroke imaging: understanding perfusion imaging and clot retrieval
  • Patterns of cerebral hemorrhage, including aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations
  • Case review session 

The course will also include video-only access to a number of other topics recorded at our Neuroradiology Update 2016 and Adult Brain MRI Review Course including:

  • White matter disease
  • Spinal cord & coverings
  • Advanced glioma videos (treatment response, molecular markers)

The aforementioned video-only topics will be available immediately after course payment is made. Previously recorded videos of topics covered on the day will become available after April 1.  Video access ends on April 1, 2018. Presenters

Associate Professor Frank Gaillard (@frankgaillard) is a neuroradiologist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. After obtaining his FRANZCR in 2009, Frank completed two years of fellowship training in neuroradiology at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Vancouver General Hospital. In addition to his work as a clinical neuroradiologist, he has research interests in brain tumor imaging, multiple sclerosis, neurodegenerative disease and computer aided diagnosis. He is renowned globally as the founder and editor in chief of Radiopaedia.org.

Professor Peter Mitchell (@mitchep07) is a neurointerventional radiologist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital where he is director of neurointervention services. Peter is a world leader in endovascular management of stroke and was an investigator and co-author of the EXTEND-IA trial published in NEJM in March 2015.

Refund policy

Full refund less $80 administration/video access fee for any cancelations received more than 10 days prior to the event. No refund is available for cancelations received within 10 days of the event. All cancelation requests should be emailed to [email protected].
