Radiology Review Course - Melbourne

Description

A two-day radiology review course in Melbourne on July 27-28, 2019. This event is intended as a refresher course for general radiologists and as a pre-exam primer for radiology registrars or overseas trained radiologists preparing to sit RANZCR Part II.  Spaces are available for radiographers to attend the Saturday lectures.

All attendees receive online video access to the 2018 course videos as well as access to the 2019 lecture recordings after the event. Lecture topics and workshop cases in 2019 will be different from the 2018 course, so if you attended last year then we'd encourage you to attend again for an all-new experience.

At Melbourne Brain Center from 8.30 am to 4.15 pm 

Seven 50-minute lectures covering high-yield radiodiagnoses in each subspecialty.

Sunday July 28 - Workshops

At Stamford Plaza from 9.00 am to 4.30 pm

Attendees will rotate through four 90-minute workshops and will be required to bring a laptop to facilitate case viewing.

Note: Pre-exam workshops are only for those individuals sitting RANZCR Part II within the next 12 months (registrars or overseas trained radiologists). These are small group workshops and places are very limited. General workshops include the same content as the pre-exam workshops however the group is far larger and the discussion is less exam focused.

Video

All attendees will receive 12 months free online video access to the recordings of the Saturday lectures and also the 6 hours of video recordings from the 2018 course. The 2018 videos will be available for viewing instantly after course registration. The 2019 videos will be available within a month of the course date. Video access will expire on 28 July 2020. 

CPD Certification

All attendees receive a certificate of course attendance.

Presenters

Dr. Andrew Dixon is a Consultant Radiologist and Co-Director of Radiology Training at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. He has subspecialty expertise in musculoskeletal and neuroradiology. He is an internationally recognized educator contributing to courses including Radiopaedia's Trauma Radiology Course, Emergency Radiology Course and Medical Imaging Anatomy Course. He is Radiopaedia's Academic Director and is an editorial board member with the Journal of the American College of Radiology.

Associate Professor Frank Gaillard is the Founder and Editor in Chief of Radiopaedia.org, which he began in December 2005. He is also a neuroradiologist and Director of Research in the University of Melbourne Department of Radiology of the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Australia. In addition to his work as a clinical radiologist, he has active research interests in neurodegenerative diseases, imaging of CNS tumors and computer-aided MRI interpretation.

Dr. Jeremy Jones is a Consultant Pediatric Radiologist at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Edinburgh, UK and an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Edinburgh. He has subspecialty interests in pediatric neuro and pediatric musculoskeletal imaging. He is Theme Lead for Imaging for MBChB at Edinburgh Medical School and is involved in post-graduate radiology training and lead for pediatric imaging training. He has an interest in IT and sits on the national PACS Governance board for Scotland as well as Chairing the PACS Clinical Advisory Group.

Dr. Yuan Ling is a Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist at Imaging at Olympic Park and the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne. He has a particular clinical and research interest in sports imaging and soft-tissue injuries. He is a musculoskeletal examiner for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists.  

Dr. Vikas Shah is a Consultant Radiologist at the University Hospitals of Leicester.  He has taught abdominal and emergency imaging at several national and international courses, including the Radiopaedia Emergency Abdominal Imaging course. He has a particular passion for delivering radiology education using social media and new technology. Outside of work, Vikas is kept busy by his young children and is slowly mastering the art of Lego! 

Dr. Miranda Siemienowicz completed a Thoracic Imaging Fellowship at the Toronto General Hospital in Canada and is now based at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, Australia, the largest lung transplant hospital in the southern hemisphere. She also works privately with Medical Imaging Australia and has multiple thoracic imaging publications, including in interstitial lung disease and transthoracic needle biopsy of the lung.

Dr. Alexandra Stanislavsky is a Consultant Radiologist with Monash Health and Monash BreastScreen. After graduating from Melbourne University in 2004, she completed her radiology training and an MRI Fellowship at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne. Alexandra undertook further fellowships in women's imaging at the Royal Women's Hospital and in breast imaging with BreastScreen. She is passionate about teaching and has enjoyed ongoing editorial involvement with Radiopaedia.org since 2010.  She is an Associate Editor for the Australian Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine (AJUM).

Location

The Saturday and Sunday components of this event are at different locations but are relatively close together. If you are coming from interstate or overseas, then we would recommend booking accommodation in the CBD or Carlton areas.

Refund policy

Full refund less $100 administration fee for any cancelations received more than 10 days prior to the event. No refund is available for cancelations received within 10 days of the event. All cancelation requests should be emailed to [email protected].
