A Tarlov cyst is a dilatation of the subarachnoid space surrounding a spinal nerve root. Most patients are asymptomatic with no demonstrable need for care.

Tarlov cysts are most frequently found at the S2 level, and bone remodeling is a common feature of large cysts.
