Microscopically, the pleomorphic adenomas consist of three elements: epithelial cells, myoepithelial cells, and stroma. The epithelial cells commonly form tubular or glandular structures and are surrounded by myoepithelial cells. The background stroma may be myxoid, chondroid, hyalinized, or vascular.
