This patient has no neurological deficit. There are many possible etiologies for transient splenial callosal lesions. This may include:

• hypernatremia
• hypoglycemic encephalopathy
• bacterial or viral meningoencephalitis
• hemolytic uremic encephalopathy
• posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES)
• radiation therapy
• diffuse axonal injury
• Marchiafava–Bignami disease
• cerebral infarction
• epilepsy
