Discussion:
  • cricopharyngeal bars are relatively common on barium swallows
  • mostly asymptomatic with dysphagia resulting from a different pathology (as in this case from thoracic esophageal dysmotlity)
  • associated with gastro-esophageal reflux disease and Zenker's diverticulum
