Left breast cancer and high-risk lesion of the right breast

Discussion:

Patient's first visit to her gynecologist after more than five years. He palpated her breasts and found a lump in the upper lateral quadrant of the right breast. He sent her for an ultrasound examination, whose results were as described above.

She is then sent for a mammography (not shown) and the results were:  BIRADS Right 4a Left 5, so she underwent bilateral biopsy.

The biopsy results were:

Left breast- Invasive ductal carcinoma.

Right breast- Atypical ductal and lobular epithelial hyperplasia.
