The patient stated that she previously had Nexplanon placed about a year ago and had forgotten about the implant. Came to the ER to have it evaluated.

There are two brands of long acting reversible implantable contraception currently available: Nexplanon and Implanon (latter discontinued in the USA). Implanon is not radiopaque.
