Pericardial calcifications are common in patients with constrictive pericarditis. While its etiology is mostly idiopathic, it is linked to postsurgical and post-radiation changes. Prior radiation and abnormal left ventricular function are predictors of poor overall survival. The pericardial calcifications per se have no impact on patient's survival ².
