Bilateral congenital talipes equino-varus deformity in fetus

Discussion:

Congenital talipes equinovarus deformity ( CTEV ) or more commonly known as club foot is a congenital deformity involving the foot and ankle giving rise to a plantar flexed, internally rotated and adducted foot. The incidence is about 1 in 1000 live births with a male to female ratio of 2:1. 50% cases are bilateral. It can be detected on an antenatal ultrasound as early as 16 weeks gestational age.

It may be associated with open neural tube defects, trisomy 18 or arthrogryposis.
