concentric layered area of increased T2 signal in the right occipital lobe at the temporo-occipital junction measuring 2 x 2 cm, without contrast enhancement
generalized cortical atrophy
old left parietal infarcts
advanced chronic small vessel ischemia in the bilateral frontal and parietal lobes, as well as the pons and brain stem
Case Discussion
MRI findings in this case are most consistent with Balo concentric sclerosis, a rare subtype of multiple sclerosis.
