Simple ranula

Discussion:

A ranula is a mucous retention cyst of the sublingual salivary gland. This one is small, but they can get quite large. If they enter the submandibular space at the posterior edge of the mylohyoid muscle, they are not simple anymore but plunging ranula. Key features are that they are unilocular and are above the mylohyoid muscle, hence within the sublingual space.
