Connatal cyst

Discussion:

Connatal cysts are cystic lesions adjacent to the superolateral margins of the body and/or frontal horns of the lateral ventricles. Although previously considered to represent an ischemic insult, they are now considered to represent a normal variant. Connatal cysts have a reported incidence of 0.7% in pre-term low birth weight infants and usually resolve on follow up imaging.
