What is the main finding here?
The endobronchial tube is inserted too far, and is going down the right main bronchus.
What has this done to the chest?
There is subsequent left sided collapse, with volume loss and loss of the left hemidiaphragm.
When reporting this radiograph, what should you do?
The first thing is to check and see if this error has been realised and rectified. If not, you need to try to contact the responible clinical team to correct this before longer term complications occur.
Supine radiograph.
ETT tip projects over the right main bronchus. There is corresponding loss of the left hemidiaphragm, with volume loss and mediastinal shift to the left.
The lungs are otherwise clear.
