In the case the opaque hemithorax is caused due to the contrast media which was injected ended up in the  left pleural cavity due to the abnormal placement of the central venous line.

As evident the homogenous opacity of the contrast media  is denser than bone which is generally not seen in the usual causes of a white out lung
