MRI
What is the clinical (i.e. symptoms) differential diagnosis for patients who present with foramen magnum meningiomas?
multiple sclerosis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, syringomyelia, cervical spondylosis, tumours of the upper cord.
Dorsal foramen magnum mass is seen compressing the cervicomedullary junction and upper cervical cord. Post contrast images appear to have limited contrast (note paucity of mucosal enhancement) and as such a comment on enhancement characteristics of this mass is difficult. Mega-cisterna magna is incidentally noted.
