What is the classical type of seizure these patients suffer from?
Gelastic seizures (uncontrollable laughing).
The tuber cinereum and left mammillary body show a small solid mass lesion with isointense T1, slightly hyperintense T2 / FLAIR signal. It measures about 1.2 x 1 cm in its main axial dimensions. The lesion shows no significant post-contrast enhancement. Normal right mammillary body.
The remainder of the brain is unremarkable.
Conclusion:
Hypothalamic (tuber cinereum and left mammillary body) mass lesion; tuber cinereum hamartoma.
