This playlist is made to help you appreciate the imaging spectrum of COVID-19 pneumonia and some of its mimics.
These are presented as blinded cases
Six out of twelve patients on this list have COVID-19
The other six are mimics.
Imaging findings of COVID-19 can be normal and can vary dependent on the stage of disease and the severity of disease amongst individuals. It can sometimes have a significant overlap with other conditions.
These cases are for people with pre-existing "normal" lungs. If the lungs are abnormal to begin with, the patterns can then be very different.
How to do quiz
- Get a piece of paper and scroll through each case and after each case write down from 1 to 12
- COVID-19 or not
- Possible alternative diagnosis (es)
- This is a guess only - don't worry whether if you get it right or not on the first round
- Then click Next at the bottom after case
- If you need to find the actual diagnosis
- Right-click on case ID on the bottom right (ideally on second round) and then open in a new window or new tab.
- Play through as many times as possible
- You can also open the radiopaedia COVID-19 article (edited by the hour) by right-clicking as new tab as refer "as and when needed" - This currently has close to 100 imaging-related accessible publications on the reference list (and growing by the day)
