Hip arthrogram injections (fluoroscopy)
What syringe selection will you ask for in this anaesthetic arthrogram injection?
Show Answer
3 syringes - a syringe for the local anesthetic i.e. 5mL, a syringe for contrast i.e 10mL, and a syringe for the steroid containing injectate i.e. 5mL.
Why are the two 5mL syringes not confused when performing the procedure?
The steroid containing injectate will be a white colour, the local anaesthetic is clear.
Presented for image-guided diagnostic/therapeutic steroid injection into the hip.
