Septal bounce

Discussion:

"Septal bounce" is a sign of ventricular interdependence. When the ventricles are constricted (e.g. tethered by the pericardium), the motion of the ventricular walls is markedly reduced and the volume of the heart is fixed. Changes in ventricular volumes and pressures are then reflected through deviations of the septum.
