What might one expect to find on MR spectroscopy in cerebral abscess?
Elevation of a succinate peak is relatively specific but not present in all abscesses ; high lactate, acetate, alanine, valine, leucine, and isoleucine levels peak may be present ; Cho / Crn and NAA peaks are reduced
Large thick walled ring enhancing right frontal lobe mass with avid internal diffusion restriction and marked perilesional oedema, with resultant effacement and displacement of the lateral ventricle.
