MRI - MRI Pelvis
What are the classic MRI findings in placenta accreta?
T2 images: Heterogenous hyperintensities in the placenta, and thinning of the myometrium/junction zone.
Heterogenous tissue is identified at the fundus of the uterus, extending toward the left cornual region and extending into the myometrium. The tissue extends from the endometrial surface, through the myometrium and comes within 3mm of the serosa (see axial T2 small field of view: image 3). It measures approximately 3 x 2.5 x 5.1 cm.
