Grey-scale high-resolution ultrasound with a linear-array transducer of the scrotum reveals appendages of the upper pole of the testis and a smaller in the head of the epididymis. 

Power Doppler image of the same patient demonstrates no blood flow at the appendages.

Extended field-of-view technique reveals the contents of the scrotum. We can see the testis and epididymis with their appendages along with hydrocele.
