What kinds of fractures are considered highly suspicious for non-accidental trauma?
1) Metaphyseal fracture (so called bucket handle fracture or corner fracture) 2) Posterior rib fractures 3) Skull fracture 4) Scapular fractures and sternal fractures 5) Femoral fracture in non-ambulatory infant.
Multiple fractures are seen involving the posterior ribs, bilaterally. The infant is intubated and NGT in situ.
