Hepatic abscess

Discussion:

A full-term child with no history of umbilical vein catheterization, presented with abdominal pain and focal right hypochondrial swelling with a high-grade fever. Ultrasound has been done initially and showed ill-defined hypoechoic area in the left lobe. CT has been conducted three days later and showed left hepatic lobe lesion with target appearance coupled with extra-hepatic multi-locular cystic lesion and minimal free intra-peritoneal fluid.
