Iliac crest apophyseal avulsion fracture

Discussion:

Iliac crest apophyseal avulsion fracture is due to forceful contraction of anterior abdominal wall muscles. It is a rare fracture that occurs in adolescents, and usually the underlying abnormality in a hip-pointer injury in this age. It is generally the least common of pelvic avulsion fractures. Most patients respond to conservative treatment.
