Pathology: Fibrosis and mild nonspecific chronic inflammation and early dystrophic calcifications.

Biopsy consists for the most part of lamellae of hyalinized collagen. No granulomas or necrosis seen. No amyloid. A possible diagnosis is sclerosing mediastinitis.
