Dilatation of cervix without uterine contractions.
Causes of cervical incompetence
Idiopathic (most common), congenital (mullerian duct abnormalities), in utero DES exposure, connective tissue disorder (Ehlers-Danlos syndrome) or traumatic (repeated cervical dilatation associated with termination of pregnancies).
Presented through ER with lower abdominal pain.
