Tuber cinereum hamartoma

Discussion:

The floor of the 3rd ventricle from the pituitary stalk to the mammillary bodies is called the tuber cinereum; it should be smooth. Any nodularity within should raise the suspicion of a tuber cinereum (hypothalamic) hamartoma. Small, non-enhancing mass lesion contiguous with the tuber cinereum is almost always diagnostic of tuber cinereum hamartoma.
