What type of amyloidosis is this radiotracer specific for?
Transthyretin (TTR) amyloidosis
What ratio of heart to contralateral rib is considered diagnostic of amyloidosis?
Ratios greater than or equal to 1.5.
Where does this radiotracer commonly localize in normal patients and what is the mechanism of localization?
The radiotracer commonly localizes to hydroxyapatite crystals in bone-forming tissues through chemisorption.
1 hour and 3 hour delayed static and SPECT images demonstrate intense radiotracer uptake throughout the left greater than right ventricle myocardium. The uptake is significantly higher than the adjacent ribs. Radiotracer count quantitation demonstrates 1 hour and 3 hour delayed heart to contralateral rib ratios of 2.06 and 2.00, respectively.
