Axial non-contrast
Presentation CT: oedema in the right medial thalamus, left thalamus, posterior limb of the left internal capsule, left lentiform nucleus, splenium of the left corpus callousm and left cerebral peduncle. The oedema was causing some mass effect, seen as compression of the third ventricle.
MRI was recommended.
