Besides the location on body and tail, this lesion has typical characteristics for serous cystoadenoma of pancreas. This case = is a presumptive diagnosis.
A serous cystadenoma of the pancreas is an uncommon type of benign cystic pancreatic neoplasm. It`s typically demonstrates as a multicystic, lobulated mass in the pancreatic head region. A characteristic enhancing central scar may be present which can show associated stellate calcification (present in ~ 20 % of cases).
There are multiple cystic pancreatic lesions in the pancreas, some of which are pathognomonic, although diagnosis can be challenging even with multi-modality imaging and its relative inaccessibility to biopsy.
