What do the blood results show?
Lactic acidosis and renal dysfunction. Without previous results, it is not possible to determine if these are acute or chronic changes, but the raised urea would point to a degree of dehydration.
The surgeon wants you to do a CT scan. What do you say?
With the question of ischaemia, a contrast examination is required. However, the renal dysfunction is a problem. A discussion with the clinical team about the likely deleterious effects of ionic contrast on her renal function need to happen and where possible, filtration or dialysis should be an option following the examination.
