Large complicated lymphocele in renal transplant


The findings of CT after 20 days of renal transplant in a 25 Y/O patient is compatible with large complicated lymphocele. 

Perinephric fluid collections complicating a renal transplant are caused by :

  • lymphocele :  most common , occurring within 2 to 3 weeks after transplant 
  • urinoma : can occur at any time due to anastomotic leak or vascular injury
  • hematoma : higher CT density
  • abscess : may contain gas ...
