Michel aplasia, also known as complete labyrinthine aplasia (CLA), is a congenital abnormality of the inner ear and is characterised by bilateral absence of differentiated inner ear structures(single cochlear vestibular cavity).
NB: recurrent meningitis... dt. dehiscent of tegmen tympani /wide cochlear aqueduct.
-Enlarged vestibular aqueduct : should not be larger than posterior semicircular canal. management: no trauma (avoid spots) / cochlear implant.
Superior semicircular canal dehiscence(Tullio syndrome) :s/s, noise induced vertigo.
