- Leigh: Mitochrondrial dz w/FLARE bright changes to deep grey matter (brainstem, BG).
- MELAS: Childhood, young adult w/intermittent cortical infarcts that spare the underlying WM.
- Parkinsons: DAT scan SPECT of the BG shows a period, not a comma.
- Deep brain stimulators: Treatment. Electrode tips 9mm from midline, w/in subthalamic nuclei.
- Multisystem Atrophy Cerebellar subtype: Brainstem Hot crossed bun sign.
- Progressive Supranuclear Palsy: Midbrain with tegmentum atrophy that spares the peduncles and tectum = "Mickey mouse sign" on axial, and "Hummingbird sign" on sagittal.
- Huntington's Dz: Caudate volume loss.
- Wilson's Dz: Copper deposition in BG = T1 bright w/GRE blooming. Chronic shows FLARE bright BG and tegmentum.
