The inferior pharyngeal constrictor muscle is one of the pharyngeal constrictor muscles. Its primary action is constriction of the pharynx (in coordination with the superior pharyngeal constrictor and the middle pharyngeal constrictor muscles) to deliver a bolus of food into the oesophagus.
