Dai is a Consultant Radiologist working at Musgrave Park and Royal Victoria Hospitals, Belfast. His subspecialty interest is Musculoskeletal Radiology. 

He undertook his radiology training in the South Wales training scheme and completed his fellowship in diagnostic and interventional Musculoskeletal Radiology in St. Pauls Hospital, Vancouver.   His past roles include a clinical teaching fellow and an anatomy demonstrator, and he remains involved in teaching.
