Yuranga Weerakkody ◉

Dr Yuranga Weerakkody is a consultant radiologist with subspecialist expertise and interests primarily in thoracic imaging and some aspects of cardiovascular, oncology and prostate imaging.

During early stages of radiopaedia, he framed the foundations of most of current thoracic imaging and obstetrics and gynaecology article content within this site. He has been an editorial board member for over 14 years and was as managing editor (international) of radiopaedia for 9 years from 2011 to 2020.

He is an associate editor for the Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Oncology (JMIRO) and sits on several medical imaging related educational, advisory and governance panels. 

He is a moderator and RANZCR phase 2 examiner for thoracic imaging components and maintains registrar training academic commitments within the RANZCR Western Australian Radiology State Training program and radiology components of the undergraduate medical training program of the University of Western Australia.
