Presentation

Left knee pain with a history of skiing trauma.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Female
  • moderate joint effusion

  • mild hyperintensity with superior fiber discontinuity of the anterior cruciate ligament, in keeping with a high-grade partial thickness tear

  • hyperintensity of the femoral insertion of the lateral collateral ligament with minimal surrounding fluid in keeping with a grade 1 injury

  • pivot shift bone bruise pattern

  • edema in the lateral aspect of the popliteal fossa

  • linear hyperintensity of the body of the medial meniscus with no extension to the articular surface (grade 2a)

  • discoid lateral meniscus
