There is loss of the bow tie configuration of the body of the medial meniscus in the parasagittal images with inward displacement of a torn fragment into the inter-condylar notch lying in front of the posterior cruciate ligament (double PCL sign). Its posterior horn shows intrasubstance linear band of abnormal high signal intensity reaching the inferior meniscal articular surface.
Mild knee effusion is noted.
Case Discussion
A bucket-handle tear of medial meniscus with double PCL sign, and absent bow-tie sign.
