Presentation

Right shoulder trauma.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Male
  • minimal glenohumeral joint effusion

  • a complete tear of the long head biceps brachii tendon at the level of its intraarticular segment with a consequent retraction of the distal part

  • irregularity of the coracohumeral ligament due to partial thickness tear

  • high T2W signal intensity inside the supraspinatus tendon footprint fibers due to tendinosis

  • small effusion in the subacromial subdeltoid bursa

Case Discussion

MRI features are consistent with a complete tear of the long head biceps tendon (LHBT) with consequent retraction of the distal part.
