History of Graves disease and bilateral proptosis and blurred vision.

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Male

Enlarged lacrimal glands with prolapse more prominent on the left side.  Bilateral proptosis, increased orbital fat, enlarged extraocular muscles more prominent in superior rectus muscles, and left side preseptal swelling.

Case Discussion

The case illustrates typical non-contrast MDCT features of orbital Graves disease. One of the major causes of proptosis is Graves disease which usually involves the inferior and medial rectus muscles.
