Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Male

There is a comminuted fracture of the parasymphseal region of the mandible with a fracture line that extends into the right canine (43) with a fracture of the root evident. There is a fracture through the ramus of the right mandible involving the base of the right condylar process. 

There is a comminuted fracture of the parasymphyseal region of the mandible with a fracture line that extends into the right canine (43) with a fracture of the root. There is a fracture through the ramus of the right mandible involving the base of the right condylar process. There is a minimally displaced fracture of the nasal bone.

Case Discussion

Dental injuries are more commonly associated with mandibular symphysis fractures (although these fractures are parasymphseal in this case) than fractures elsewhere in the mandible.
