Osteoma of the mandibular coronoid process

Axial CT images showed a pedunculated mushroom-like bony sclerotic lesion originating from the coronoid process of the right mandible associated with the sclerosis of the parent bone and extending laterally into the parotid space. No contiguous medullary cavity into the lesion and no evidence of cartilage cap.
Case Discussion
Osteoma is a benign, slow-growing osteogenic tumor that sometimes arises from the craniomaxillofacial region, such as the sinus, temporal, or jaw bones. Peripheral osteoma in the mandible is a relatively rare condition.
