Presentation

Known case of ectopic right kidney.

Patient Data

Age: 4 years
Gender: Male
ultrasound

Left kidney is visualized at its expected anatomical position in left upper abdomen and it measures 7.2 x 3.5 cm. Right kidney is visualized in right hemipelvis and it measures 5.8 x 2.7 cm. No hydronephrosis is seen. Moderately filled urinary bladder has smooth outlines.

Tc-99m DMSA

Nuclear medicine

Normally sited left kidney and ectopic right kidney seen in the pelvis. Both kidneys show homogeneous radiotracer distribution. No cortical scar is seen in either kidney. Differential renal function: left kidney= 48% and right kidney= 52%.
